Modern Eon - comprising Alex Che Johnson (vocals/guitar), Danny Hampson (bass), Tim Lever (guitar and sax), Bob Wakelin (keyboards) and Cliff Hewitt (drums).Releasing the sophisticated Fiction Tales in April, 1981 – with material largely written by Che Johnson/Hampson, plus three singles, The band toured the UK and Europe. But by the end of 1981 Modern Eon disappeared as suddenly as they’d emerged, leaving fans with a glimpse of sonic, creative and production brilliance juxtaposing new wave, progressive and experimental. Some of the early material presented here provides the opportunity to hear Modern Eon in its early, developmental stage, as well as the innovative 45-rpm DinDisc b-sides from the singles.
